Description

When it comes to treatment planning, sometimes dentists have no idea where to start or how to build a treatment plan. In reality, the most difficult clinical cases are those in which the teeth or bone is out of position, or gingival contours are poorly situated, or there is a problem with the occlusion. The thorough analysis of four main areas: Aesthetics, Function, Structure and Biology following a systematic approach starting with history-taking, to the patient examination, and model analysis in the articulator using a risk evaluation system allows us to make a proper diagnosis and to create a plan. Despite the fact that the determining factor in treatment planning is aesthetics, the need for proper examination of the TMJ, muscles, periodontium and teeth is recognized to achieve the long-term success of dental rehabilitation.
