Dr. Sebastian Paris

Dr Sebastian Paris, was born in 1978 and graduated in Dentistry 2003. He passed his doctorate thesis (Promotion) “Influence of application time on the sealing of initial enamel lesions with various adhesives and a fissure sealant in vitro” in 2005. From 2004-2008 he worked at the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology, Charité, Berlin as a lecturer and instructor of undergraduate students. Sebastian Paris’ main scientific contributions have been within the field of cariology. In particular he worked on the infiltration of enamel caries lesions with light curing resins, a novel micro invasive technique that might be an alternative way to arrest caries lesions. Since 2006 he and his project have been supported by a research grant of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Association). The project in whole has been awarded with the ‘Innovation Prize of the Federal States Berlin/Brandenburg’ and in the contest ‘Germany - Country of Ideas’. Sebastian Paris is the author and co-author of 19 original papers, 5 reviews and 36 scientific abstracts. His work has been awarded with the “Oral-B Prophylaxis Award”, the IADR — William Gies Award”, The “IADR — Lion award” and the “Award of the German Association for Conservative Dentistry”.
