Description

This would be a discussion of the key elements involved in selecting the appropriate cement material and technique for delivery of indirect restorations. The geometry of the tooth preparation, restorative material, and cement material and technique are critically related to engineering a predictable long-term restoration. There is often confusion as to what materials and techniques are optimum for different clinical situations and restorative materials as manufacturers advocate for specific materials. The program would use clinical examples to illustrate key decision points in the process.

Learning Objectives:

•Distinguish between conventional cementation and adhesive cementation
•Understand specific features, physical properties, and handling instructions to ensure predictable clinical outcomes
•Appreciate the geometry of the tooth preparation and margin location as key elements in predictable restoration delivery
