Laurence Walsh is Professor of Dental Science and Head of the School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. A registered specialist in the field of special needs dentistry, Laurence has played a major role in the development of minimal intervention approaches to conservative dentistry over the past 25 years, spanning a range of chemical, microbial, optical and biophotonic technologies. He has published extensively in the dental and medical literature with more than 200 journal papers and 9 books, and serves on the editorial boards of six international journals. Laurence has lectured in more than 20 countries. Still very much a clinician at heart, he has been involved in the research and development of a number of techniques and technologies used in dental practice through his own work in clinical practice in Australia and overseas.
