Dr. Christensen co-founded and directed Clinical Research Associates (CRA) for over 25 years.  CRA is the only non-profit dental products testing laboratory in the world.  Its 40 on-site basic scientists and support staff and 400 clinicians located in 20 countries test all types of dental products monthly in 10 languages with subscriber in 87 countries.

Dr. Christensen received a bachelor of Sconce in Dental Hygiene from the University of Southern California and practice hygiene for over 25 years.  She also worked as a dental laboratory technician for 3 years.  She was the founder of the bachelor degree program at the University of Colorado, and served as its first director.  She earned a PHD in physiology, with an emphasis in on microbiology, from Brigham Young University in 1986, after which she completed a post-graduate course in anaerobic microbiology at Virginia Polytechnic State University.

She has presented over 1000 dental continuing education programs, totaling over 5000 hours, in the U.S. and 32 programs totaling over 200 hours in international locations.  She has made 7 videos on control of infectious diseases in the dental office, which have been used in universities and clinical practices worldwide.  Her artwork has been published in two dental textbooks.  She has worked on research in many areas of dentistry and published studies in books and journals on such diverse topics as restorative materials, dental caries, resin polymerization problems, disinfectants and face masks, and effects of polishing oral biofilm and tooth structure.  In addition she has polished 113 abstracts and has been the lead scientist and editor-in chief of over 1800 CRA Newsletter reports o n many different types of dental products and techniques.

She is a member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the International and American Associations for Dental Research and the American Society of Microbiology.  As a non- dentist, she has  been inducted into the International  College of Dentists, Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Dentistry International as an Honorary Member.
