This life-changing program will give you tools and information to effectively recognize and treat patients battling addiction. It will empower you to make a significant difference in their lives!

Learning Objectives
• Identify and understand the common drugs of abuse.
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of addiction.
• Identify the oral and physical manifestations of substance abuse, including effects on the developing brain.
• Understand the devastating impact substance abuse has on oral, whole-body, and family health and wellness.
• Create an evidenced based, holistic treatment protocol , including recovery resources, for addicted clients.

Biography

Edie is a charismatic, knowledge-wealthy trainer with a mission and passion to affect change! She incorporates real world experiences and humor into all her programs, making difficult subjects fun, empowering, and thought provoking for the entire team! She is the former Executive Director, Certified Educator and Founding Fellow of the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries (ADIA). Edie owned an independent dental hygiene practice, called About Face Dental Hygiene Spa, in Crested Butte, CO until spinal surgery ended her full-time clinical career. Currently, Edie is a Clinical Trainer/Advisor for The Implant Consortium, a Corporate Trainer for Balancing Life’s Issues, Inc. and an independent speaking professional. She is the Colorado Regional Assimilation  Coach/Facilitator for Celebrate Recovery. Edie is pursuing her MS in Psychology and training to be a Licensed Addictions Counselor. She is the Volunteer Coordinator for CASA, Voices for Children and, along with her husband Chris, runs a transitional living facility for men recovering from addictions called
The New Adams House. Edie also served on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Practical Hygiene, is a Thought Leader for Hu-Friedy, a Key Opinion Leader for Crown Seating and PDT Inc. and published author.
