Description

Lesions and lumps tell stories!  This is a review of infectious, neoplastic, developmental and immune-related oral pathology.  Evaluate diagnostic technology and learn the value and process of providing oral pathology risk assessment for every patient.  Attendees participate in discovery of differential diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review and practice precise descriptive terms and methods of recording clinical lesions.
  • - Based on clinical presentation and history, identify and assess potentially cancerous lesions.
  • - Identify and assess representative tissue masses; suggest a differential diagnosis and plan patient treatment/referrals and long term patient management.
  • - Identify, evaluate and compare oral soft tissue ulcerations & papillary lesions.
  • - Evaluate and compare oral pathology detection technology, including laboratory tests and light emitting devices.

- Learn how to assess a patient’s risk for oral cancer using standardized tools.
